Cory’s story – Teen 12-Step Group and Community Service

My story has been a very interesting and difficult journey.

I was mandated to 90 hours of community service and one year probation.

As any other 16 year old would feel I was angry that I had do so many hours without wanting to do it. After a while I got to know the people that ran The Jairus Agency and felt like I got close to them and I felt I could have fun while doing my community service.

I also enrolled in the teen 12 step program for anger management. Our group started out with about 7 kids and narrowed down to 3. The three of us meet once a week. We all learned to trust each other with our problems. The group gives advice to the group members.

Every person only speaks for themselves and no ones name is mentioned if they are not in the group. People also don’t talk about the group to other people because many personal things are mentioned.

In conclusion the Jairus agency and the twelve step program helps people become better people and there should be more people like the people of The Jairus Agency because they sincerely care about the people they help and work with.
